Buri Asset Management was created to structure financial solutions that transform Brazilian agribusiness into a solid and accessible asset class for institutional investors. Since 2018, our team has led pioneering transactions across credit, land, logistics, and infrastructure, combining international experience, strong governance, and deep knowledge of the local market.
Our History

From the founding of Funchal in 2018 to the consolidation of Buri Asset as an independent asset manager, our history reflects the evolution of agribusiness as a global-value financial asset.

2018

Founding of Funchal and launch of the first listed fund dedicated to agribusiness.

2021

Structuring of the first FIIs focused on logistics and the acquisition of agricultural land.

2022

Creation of the first environmental compensation FIP in the state of São Paulo.

2023

R$400 million in DCM and M&A transactions in the sector.

2024-2025

Transition to an independent structure and the creation of Buri Asset Management, surpassing R$1.5 billion in transactions.

With over 15 years of experience in consulting and real-estate investments, bringing strategic insight into agribusiness assets.

Christian Laloe

Former trader at Merrill Lynch and manager at BTG Pactual in London, with 25 years of experience in emerging markets and agribusiness.

Gustavo Piegas

Economist trained at Insper, active in the management of family rural properties and agribusiness-focused projects.

Júlio Knorst

Business administrator trained at Insper, with experience in financial consulting and rural property management focused on livestock.

Luiz Filipe Diniz

Economist from Insper, with experience analyzing agribusiness companies and managing family rural properties.

Pedro Barreto

Business Administration student at Insper, participant in AgroInsper, with experience working on projects in partnership with XP, EQI, and Funchal Investimentos.

Maurício Kameyama

Professional with over 25 years of experience in the Brazilian capital markets, with solid expertise in credit, risk, financial structuring, and complex operations. Holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas.

Sidnei Helfstein Junior

With more than three decades in the financial market, has built a solid track record in the integrated management of corporate risks and internal controls (Credit, Capital, Market, Liquidity, Operational, ESG, Cyber, AML/CFT, and Compliance), leading teams dedicated to the development and implementation of robust policies, as well as the use of advanced quantitative models.

Hugo Bittencourt

Credit & Risk Advisor. Holds a degree in Economics from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP). Former Credit Director at Banco ABC Brasil and Credit and Risk Director at the ALFA Group, with distinguished experience across Wholesale, Retail, Asset Management, and Brokerage businesses.
